James Carpenter is focused on improving product development organizations through deep meaningful organizational and cultural change. Over the years change fads come and go, yet the truth of what actually works has stayed relatively constant.
Small focused highly collaborative groups of engineers who closely engage with the users tend to produce the best products. Similarly, test-first style development practices made just as much sense in the 1970s as they make today. James’ mission is to bring these insights to others wishing to improve their organizations ability to build great software.
The LeSS Framework, principles, and guides resonate very strongly with James and aligned very closely with what actually works in practice.
He is one of fewer than a half-dozen LeSS trainers in North America, and one of a couple dozen LeSS trainers globally.
You can find out more about James at his website.
Sonesta Bee Cave Austin is near Lake Travis and the Hill Country Galleria in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Just a short 20 minutes from downtown Austin and the airport.

Setting the Stage
The first of three days will be used to establish the overall context of the system modeling activities which follow. This will be done with a small amount of lecture, but primarily via small and large group discussions and exercises. We’ll follow this thread through the entire 3-day event.
